The Origin

Hospitality in motion

In 1983, Édouard Chevalier leaves the Crillon after fifteen years spent orchestrating the stays of the world's greatest fortunes and personalities. A legendary Chef Concierge, he had understood something others overlooked: the last memory a guest keeps of a palace is neither the suite nor the dinner, but the journey that takes them home.

With two black Citroën CX, a dark suit and a Clés d'Or notebook filled with names, he founds Maison Chevalier Prestige. His philosophy is simple: every journey must be an extension of palace hospitality.

Forty years later, this conviction remains the golden thread connecting each of our 52 vehicles, each of our chauffeurs, each of our journeys.

Frequently asked questions

When and by whom was Maison Chevalier Prestige founded?

Maison Chevalier Prestige was founded in 1983 by Édouard Chevalier, former Chief Concierge of the Hôtel de Crillon on Place de la Concorde. With forty years of activity, it is today established at 18 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Its founder brought the codes of palace concierge service into private transport: anticipating needs, discretion and attention to detail.

How are the Maison's chauffeurs trained?

Each chauffeur completes a 90-hour curriculum at Académie Chevalier before driving for a client. The training covers defensive and smooth driving, etiquette, confidentiality, knowledge of Paris and its access routes, and managing the unexpected. All our chauffeurs are also VTC operators listed on the REVTC register, in accordance with Article L.3122-3 of the French Transport Code.

What sets Maison Chevalier apart from other luxury chauffeur services?

Three things set us apart. First, our hotel heritage: our founder came from the Crillon, and that culture of service runs through every journey. Second, our in-house 90-hour training, well beyond minimum regulatory requirements. Third, consistency over time: forty years of existence, a family handover and clients loyal for over a decade. Our fully electric Crit'Air 0 fleet (Mercedes EQS, EQV and BMW i7) guarantees access to the Greater Paris Low Emission Zone.

What are Maison Chevalier's values?

Our three founding values are discretion, punctuality and excellence. Discretion means that no information about a journey or a passenger ever leaves the car. Punctuality rests on systematic anticipation margins, particularly for airport transfers to Roissy and Orly. Excellence is measured by the condition of the fleet, the bearing of the chauffeurs and the care given to every request, over forty years serving a demanding clientele.

Is Maison Chevalier a member of professional organizations?

Yes. Maison Chevalier Prestige is a member of the NLA (National Limousine Association) and operates as a VTC operator registered on the REVTC register maintained under the authority of the Île-de-France Prefecture, in accordance with Article L.3122-3 of the French Transport Code. This registration certifies administrative compliance, the required insurance and the professional guarantees expected of a passenger transport operator.
